Dress shopping can be one of the most stressful aspects of planning a wedding. With shows like “Say Yes to the Dress” and hundred thousand dollar weddings spreading like wildfire on Pinterest, the pressure is on to find the picture-perfect dress! Here are our top 6 tips to help you make the dress shopping experience a breeze!
1. Do some research
When looking for a dress it’s important to do some research on the styles you like and boutiques that vibe with your style!
Once you get to the bridal salon, there will be so many dresses and questions and fabrics, it’ll be easy to get overwhelmed! Having a general idea of the styles you like can help you stay above the water.

2. Keep an open mind
I’ve talked to so many brides who have said that their wedding dress was nothing like what they had imagined! If you’re trying on dress after dress and just don’t seem to be getting anywhere, try another direction!

3. Love on yourself
Dress shopping is going to be draining. You're going to be exhausted by the end of the day and you might not be feeling your most beautiful. Whatever helps you to ward off negative thoughts, do it!
Dress shopping should be a fun and happy experience! Keep in mind that if a dress doesn’t make you feel beautiful, there’s something wrong with the dress, not you.

4. Don’t overload yourself
When I went dress shopping, I tried to cram 4 salons into one day… 10/10 would not recommend. Most bridal appointments are about an hour and a half, so plan your day accordingly. Give yourself some time for lunch, a coffee break, and time to decompress between your appointments!

5. Don’t feel pressured to buy the dress right away
Unless you’ve got a Kleinfeld's Sample Sale level shopping experience going on, you have some time to think your buying option through! Just because you walk away from your appointment without a dress doesn’t mean that you have doubts or that you’re not head over heels for your dress!
If you’ve got other appointments, go to them. If this dress is truly the one, nothing will be able to beat it!

6. Get dolled up
Curl your hair, put on some lipstick, wear your fancy shoes! This will all help you to see the vision of your wedding day look before buying the dress!
